White-tailed deer, Alberta, Canada. Photographing this deer really required a lot of effort and patience, especially wild ones which are not accustomed to the presence of humans.
For this shot, I recall getting really low and moving towards the deer while taking small steps in that low, squatting position. It was painful and physically demanding. On every instance the deer turned in my direction, I froze. I was quite sure it smelt my presence, very sure. In the end, I think it took a couple of hours before I was able to get the look I wanted.
