It was a great honour to be invited to hold a travel photography exhibition at the recent Kagoshima-Singapore Tourism Seminar and Conference Dinner Reception. The tourism seminar and dinner reception were organised by the Kagoshima prefectural government and held at the classy Salt Grill & Sky Bar restaurant on the 55th level of ION Orchard.

Apart from many distinguished guests and VIPs, the event was also graced by the governor of Kagoshima Prefecture Yuichiro Ito, Singapore Senior Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Ministry of Transport Josephine Teo and Ambassador of Japan to Singapore Haruhisa Takeuchi.

Hi guys!

It was a great honour to be selected as a finalist in Asia Without Borders, Asia's leading photo competition organised by award-winning magazine Asian Geographic!

The competition boasts 9,000 entries from over 30 countries and this year, underwater photographer Brian Skerry and world-renowned photographer Steve McCurry was involved as first round judges with a live judging grand finale held on 07 December 2012.

This was taken at an annual festival in Bumthang, Bhutan and depicts their colorful culture through their dances and elaborate costumes. The pace of the dance was rather fast and a high shutter speed was chosen taking into account the close-up nature of the shot, otherwise some blurred areas in the dress or hands would have been desired to show some sense of movement.

This is also something quite different from what I have been shooting. It's definitely more hard work finding angles, observing split-second actions zooming by and adjusting camera exposures all at the same time, but when you get a shot you want, it's exhilarating. That's the beauty of photography, I feel.
